ALERT FOR ALL MODELS ON FACEBOOK & OTHER NETWORKING
SITES – PLS READ :
It has been brought to our notice by many of our models
since last two months of various fake accounts on facebook n other sites and a
lot of fake castings going on of generally following categories :
1.Some freelance model co-ordinators contacting models for
work.
2.Casting agencies/co-ordinators existing only on facebook
with no background of castings done by them.
3.Non-industry people who are entire day on facebook trying
to get a chance on female models n gvg them false hopes of work.If you read
their profiles,they are from a different industry altogether.
4.Escort agencies/Pimps projecting themselves as big time
Casting Agencies attracting female models wt work promises or offering them exclusive
contracts to working with their Agency on very lucrative terms.
Nature of complaints received :
1.Many of these co-ordinators/Casting Agents keep putting up
pix of celebs and events/articles/shoots of models with whom they are not
remotely concerned.Neither have they done that casting or were present at the
event.Articles which do not show any contribution from their side and all this
is just to make a show that they are so busy in the industry when they have
actually nothing.
2.Body art proposals with big money.No actual rqmt is there
and they ask models to send bikini/semi-nude/nude pix for approval.Shoots are
mostly abroad and payments r v attractive.Currently there is v little body art
work happening in the industry,it’s a market which is not even so well developed
here as it is abroad.
3.Big modeling contracts specially more of ramps/print
shoots which may include even nudes wt companies based abroad.Contracts are
offered for a year and payments are abnormally high.
4.Castings for movies showing big banners and promising 2-3
film contracts where eventually models will need to finance / compromise to get
work.
ALL THE 4 POINTS MENTIONED ABOVE – ALL ONLY RELATED FOR
COMPROMISE WORK.
MOST IMP SUGGESTIONS FROM OUR END :
1.Whenver big money is involved,don’t get carried away,be
all the more careful and take all details in writing.COMPROMISE IS THE ONLY
FACTOR INVOLVED IN SUCH CASTINGS.
2.Check the profile of the Company offering work.If it’s a new production house then ask
fr references.
3.Check the profile of the Co-ordinator / Casting Agency to
see what work they have done and how genuine is the information posted on their
profiles and also whether they are involved in the activity posted on their
profile.
4.Never send out any exposive pictures to a company who you are
connecting for the first time and never worked with them.
5.Check the details of the production house / Director who
is offering work specially for lead roles in movies.
We felt it very necessary to alert the models/artists
especially freshers and those who come from outside Mumbai/India to achieve their
goals in this industry as they become the most easy targets of such people.WE
ALWAYS HAVE LOOKED TO SURFACE GENUINE TALENTS N MANY GOOD TALENTS DON’T EVEN
COME ANYWHERE NEAR THE ACTUAL INDUSTRY BECOS OF THE ABOVE PROBLEMS.
